To entertain the guests, the closing ceremony included a magic show in which the riders of the team from Alzira were volunteers. In the 125cc category, the Bancaja Aspar Team includes World Champion Gábor Talmacsi; Valencian rider Sergio Gadea, who in the last edition earned his first world victory; and the new incorporation to the team, the young Pere Tutusaus, who enjoyed recognition last season as a wild card, but who will really begin his world tour this year.
In the 250cc category, Bancaja is proud to have Álvaro Bautista, a World Champion who last season consolidated his place as a quality rider, finishing fourth in the general classification in his debut year; and Héctor Faubel, 2nd World Champion of the 125cc and an excellent rider that came up through the Valencian youth team. Faubel's accomplishments, 5 victories and 8 podiums, justify his return to the 250cc category.
The aim of the 125cc riders is none other than to defend their world title for the third season running. Success in 2006 is credited to Álvaro Bautista of Talavera de la Reina, and 2007, another excellent year, stands out for the memorable battle between riders Gábor Talmacsi and Héctor Faubel. The title was finally won by the Hungarian, who became a national hero.
As in the 125cc category, the aim of the 250cc riders will be to fight for the top spot on the podium, dreaming of the possibility of achieving a historic “double”.
The event confirmed the strong partnership between Bancaja and the Aspar Team "on and off the paddock"; together they represent one of the best teams in the motorcycle Grand Prix.
