New flights improve UK access to southern Spain

11 January 2008

A low-cost airline has revealed details of several new routes which will link the south coast of England with Spain's southern costas.

Ryanair will launch five new flights from Bournemouth Airport, establishing its 24th European base at the hub, it was announced this week.

With the Irish carrier already running a popular service to Alicante from Bournemouth, it has now added routes to Malaga and Murcia, providing cheap and convenient access to the resorts of the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca for UK passengers.

The airline's director of scheduled revenue Sean Coyle said: "We look forward to delivering even more passenger savings on even more routes from the south coast thanks to Ryanair's guaranteed lowest fares."

Located close to the major south coast cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, Bournemouth Airport will provide a gateway for Britons looking to holiday or buy a home in Spain thanks to its expanded flight network.

Ryanair also provides flights to Valencia, Alicante and Almeria from London Stansted Airport, while passengers can travel to Murcia from the airline's base at London Luton.
