The Spanish resort of Malaga looks set to attract more leisure travellers from Ireland this summer following the launch of new flights.
Aer Arann has just introduced direct services to the popular holiday destination from both Galway and Waterford Airports.
This is a further boost to the international connectivity of Malaga and could potentially lead to an increase in visitor numbers.
Commenting on the move, Garry Cullen of Aer Arann said Spain is currently one of the main hotspots for Irish sunseekers.
The airline also revealed that flights to Malaga in particular have been in strong demand from passengers who want easy access to the resort.
Joe Walsh, managing director of Galway Airport, added: "Aer Arann's expansion into Europe enables Galway Airport to provide a well rounded service to those in the western region."
This comes after Dublin Airport highlighted Malaga as one of its most popular destinations during March 2008.
