Real Estate Development

Since 2000 Bancaja Habitat has been involved in real estate property development for primary and secondary homes.

Development activity is part of the real estate chain of value, taking advantage of synergies in both land management and property sales capacity to meet BANCAJA HABITAT’s main objective: offering customers a top-quality product.

At the end of 2006 this business line had 13 developments in construction, with a total of 1,309 homes at various stages of completion. Some of these developments are being carried out in collaboration with strategic partners, all are standard-bearers on the national level.

Just as in other areas of business, over the coming years activity is expected to remain steady in the Valencian community, with the presence of developers increasing significantly in the rest of the country, mainly those involved in primary home construction, including the development of protected housing.

Bancaja Habitat

It is expected that the Group's development portfolio will be gradually pushed forward to meet its goal of handing over 1,200 homes per year in 2011.

Based on the mainly tourism and residential products created by Bancaja Habitat over recent years, a national and international sales network has been developed to diversify the market towards which these products are directed.

Of particular note is that fact that Bancaja Habitat has its own sales network comprising 15 offices and points of sale in Spain, rounded off by agreements with external estate agents and the collaboration of the network of Bancaja branches. Likewise, the development of the Group’s international sales strategy has arisen from agreements with financial and sales entities on the European level (such as that signed with DnB-NOR Eiendom, leader of the Scandinavian real estate market), as well as direct presence through sales offices owned by the Group in London and Munich.
