According to the latest Government-published data, the Valencian region is the third in Spain with the most transactions carried out by foreign citizens. The region’s tourism model is based on its sun and beach offerings. In addition, numbers confirm that of all purchases made by foreigners in Spain, 20% are of residences located in the Community of Valencia. Specifically, during the last months of 2007, 359 residences in the region were handed over to foreign investors, in comparison with the national total of 1,766. The majority (329) were residences located in the province of Alicante.
