People who want to escape from unsettled weather in the UK have been pointed towards southern Europe.
According to Jonathan Powell, senior forecaster at Positive Weather Solutions, the region could be a good alternative to Britain, which is again experiencing a disappointing summer.
Mr Powell stated that this summer is likely to be almost as bad as last year, during which the UK was hit by torrential downpours and major floods.
He has suggested that if people want to go somewhere which offers guaranteed sunshine, countries such as Spain would be a good option at this time of year.
"If you're looking for hot, dry and sunny weather in Europe, my best bet would be Spain," he commented.
However, Mr Powell reminded people to be aware the heat may become more intense further south.
According to figures from Mondial Assistance, 30 per cent of tourists from the UK are heading to Spain for their holidays this summer.
