Homes in Spain continue to attract interest from a large number of UK property buyers, an expert has stated.
Louise Hall, business director of property website Primelocation.com, said that Spain has "consistently" led the British market for overseas property over the last few years in conjunction with France.
Ms Hall stated that Spain is able to offer everything that the typical UK buyer is looking for, including "good weather, easy lifestyle, good transport links, rentability for income purposes and familiarity".
She added that the recent expansion of low-cost airlines has led to the further improvement of links between Spain and the UK, with traditionally hard to reach areas becoming more accessible for property owners and holidaymakers.
Ms Hall commented: "Spain, like France, is a big country, so there are plenty of regions that people will look to buy in, provided they are served by good transportation links to the UK."
According to government research published in 2006, 34 per cent of Britons with second homes choose to buy them in Spain.
