Golf tourism in Spain is becoming more and more popular, according to industry analysts.
Homes Worldwide stated that the sector is currently generating about €10 billion for the Spanish economy every year.
In addition, the organisation believes that golf tourism is growing at a faster rate than many other parts of the travel industry.
This has led to authorities and developers being keen to invest associated developments, including holiday homes, tourist accommodation and various leisure amenities.
Therefore, it has also become popular among overseas property investors who see the golf market as potentially lucrative.
James Wyatt of property specialists Barton Wyatt commented: "The real estate options are appealing to savvy property investors."
He said property buyers are "well aware" that golf resorts offer both a strong rental market and good capital growth prospects.
Spain and Portugal were the top two places to play golf overseas, according to a survey of passengers by airline Fly Monarch last year.
