Overseas property buyers have been encouraged to invest in the Spanish rental market.
According to ShelterOffshore.com, Spain is a popular holiday destination which offers good weather for most of the year.
Therefore, it has suggested that prospective investors cash in on the resulting rental demand by snapping a buy-to-let property in the country.
The online portal said Spain is a good option because it often attracts holidaymakers out of season, such as older leisure travellers.
"You do get an extended rental period as a result," it commented.
However, ShelterOffshore.com added that there may come a point where property owners wish to sell up and get out of the market.
Therefore, it has recommended that people are buying a residence make sure they have a viable exit strategy in mind.
This comes after Jet-to-Let magazine revealed that the credit crunch is not putting people off the idea of investing in bricks and mortar, particularly in other countries.
Research by the publication found that respondents unanimously believe that buying a foreign property is a better option than putting money into stocks and shares.
