The 2007 fiscal year has been very positive for Bancaja, which has not only achieved an important growth in business volume, but also continued to improve the Group’s efficiency ratio, now sitting at 35.95%, a 5.7% increase over last year’s ratio. These numbers reflect the consolidation of Bancaja Group as an industry leader that meets the goals set by its strategic plan.
At the close of 2007, the Group had achieved a core-capital ratio of 6.7%. The Group’s own resources total 9.107 million euros, 62% more than those established by current regulations. Bancaja’s solvency coefficient equals 12.95%.
With these numbers, over the past year, the Group has strengthened its position as the third-largest savings bank and sixth-greatest financial group in Spain, both goals that were a part of the 2004-2007 Bancaja Spain Strategic Plan.
