The Ministry of Industry reported yesterday that low-cost travel companies transport 3.4 million travellers to the Autonomous Region of Valencia, which receives 14.16% of all low-cost flights landing in Spain. This translates to nearly 24 million passengers, 40% of the total number of airline passenger in Spain, implying an increase of 34% from last year. The low-cost airline companies (CBC) grade of flight occupation was 80.2%, while that of tradition companies equalled 77.3%.
CBCs Ryanair, Easyjet and Air Berlin transported the most passengers during 2007. Trailing these companies were Spain’s Vueling and Germany’s Happag Lloyd Express.
